“You need a whole lot of money to get started. You must have money to make money…”

This is conventional advice when it comes starting a business. Here’s the thing… You don’t need much money to start a business…

Especially when the business you’re starting is office cleaning! What you do need is proven know-how and that’s what I’m here to talk to you about today.

Essential Tips for Success

Here are a number of proven techniques and ideas that will help you overcome common bumps in the road to running a successful cleaning business:

Tip #1: Ignore Rejection

When you’re first getting started, don’t let rejection stop you.

To do this well, you need to change the way you think and embrace rejection in a competitive way because it’s good for your business.

When a potential customer says they’re not interested in your cleaning service, let it fuel your competitive side.

It may not be today or even next month, but you can work on a strategy that will turn a “no” into a resounding “yes.”

Your attitude plays a huge role in creating a cleaning business that’s better than anyone else’s. Knowing how to handle rejection will also free your energy to get creative and come up with your Unique Selling Point…

This is essentially the feature or features that set you apart from other cleaning outfits in your area.

Tip #2: Resolve to Work with Available Funds

Don’t let a lack of money stop you.

All you need is the right paperwork, an understanding of the business and how to price the job to start seeing profits.

Your focus should be on your business and how you can expand your reach.

Always follow through on contacts that you make…

And keep in touch with the best prospects on your list so you can grow your customer list — and increase your profits.

Tip #3: Keep Track

Maintain a top 10 list of potential customers by gathering information such as the names of the decision makers, their mailing addresses and phone numbers.

Contact them about your cleaning service every 30 days or so but don’t do the “hard sell.”

Instead, find out what’s wrong with their current cleaning service and offer helpful solutions. This will make all the difference.

No other form of advertising is more effective and easier on your wallet than directly approaching the decision makers.

When I say approach, I’m also including phone calls, letters, and even greeting cards. Your biggest expense will only be postage stamps and envelopes.

Do this to promote your cleaning business to potential customers on a regular basis and it will pay off for you with a fast-growing business.

A mindset of persistence and an attitude of embracing rejection along the way is the real key to success in your own cleaning business.

When you get that first customer for your cleaning business, you are on your way to success!

As I mentioned earlier, you don’t need very much money to start your own cleaning business…

What you do need is your first customer!

Once you have your first customer, you can count on a regular income each month. From that point on, you can accumulate cleaning supplies for your business as you need them.

The best thing about this business is that you don’t have to convince people that cleaning needs to be done — they already know that.

You just need to convince them to employ your cleaning service and to pay you well for it.

Do your best to be professional, persistent and helpful and this is bound to happen!
